The Ota Tetsuzo Kiln is a kiln specializing in Koishiwara-yaki pottery located in Higashi-Mine Village, Asakura District, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Koishiwara-yaki has been a kiln where local farmers primarily produce everyday kitchenware needed in the area. Without leaning towards superficial forms or special techniques, the kiln focuses on faithfully creating practical items, refining the inherited and well-practiced techniques. Even in today's era, they are committed to keeping these principles in mind.
太田哲三窯は、福岡県朝倉郡東峰村にある小石原焼の窯元です。
小石原は、周辺の農家が必要とする日常の台所用品を主につくってきた窯場です。表面だけの造形や特別な技法に傾かず、伝来の熟達した技術を練りながら、用途に忠実なものを心がける――。今日のような時代にあっても、これらを肝に銘じて取り組んでいる。
日々、繰り返しの手仕事からうまれる器の数々です。
